A still of Actor, Writer and Comedian Lou Chawner from his film Bastards.

Film

The first film that Lou wrote, acted and produced was Starlight. This was originally written as a stage play and then adapted for screen. He enjoys the process of being a Film Actor Writer

Following Starlight, Lou then made a few films during the lockdown period as part of the Screen Northants 48 hour film challenges.

Most recently, he teamed up with Bert’s House co-star, Lisa Ronaghan, to co-write and produce BASTARDS!

BASTARDS

Welcome to The Medical Health Centre Practice Surgery, where the word ‘patient’ takes on a whole new meaning.

Lou recently co-wrote and produced BASTARDS with Lisa Ronaghan (Emily in Bert’s House), a short comedy set in a doctors surgery. They teamed up with director Lauren McLaughlin and a fantastic film crew and the team was complete. The film will be released soon, but for now here’s a little teaser trailer.

All Our Firsts

Lou first started making short films during the Covid lockdown period. All Our Firsts was one of his entries for the Screen Northants 48 hour film challenge, where you are given a theme at 6pm Friday evening, then you have 48 hours to write, film, edit and submit it. This pushed Lou’s Film Actor Writer skills and inspired his future film making.
